Every baby is different and as a result they all prefer different poses. Whilst it is recommended to arrange a newborn session within their first 2 weeks, this can lead parents to feeling very stressed and in reality, it isn't essential. We can create beautiful images of your baby whatever their age. Some poses are more likely to be achieved whilst they are still very new and still sleepy and curly, but speaking from personal experience, some babies are never sleepy or curly (my own was like this!!), so I work with you and your baby to ensure they are happy, comfortable and most importantly safe at all times.
I'll talk to you a lot about safety before and during the session so that you know what is happening and why. You may also be asked to help as an assistant for certain poses as the baby will never be left in a prop unattended and I sometimes need to step back for the perfect shot!
I understand from my own experience how overwhelming it can be having a new baby and I reassure every client that this is a safe place to relax and just soak up the wonder of your new baby. No well meaning friends or relatives offering helpful advice, just you and your family enjoying this experience.
I have a changing mat, newborn nappies and wipes in the studio. If you are breastfeeding, all you need to bring is yourselves and your baby. If you are bottle feeding, please bring more milk than you usually would (I have a bottle warmer for your use) as being a model can be thirsty work and they usually feed more during a session that they normally might.
I spend time talking to you at your consultation to understand the style of images that you prefer and which colours suit your home. My style is simple, natural and neutral. If you have viewed my portfolio and think my style is a good fit for you, please contact me to arrange your complimentary consultation.
